The AJA FS1-X is a versatile multi-format frame synchronizer and converter designed for broadcast and post-production. Housed in a compact 1RU chassis, it supports a wide range of video formats and offers up, down, cross-conversion, audio processing, and integration with both SDI and HDMI workflows.
- Multi-Format Video Conversion: Supports SD/HD up/down-conversion, SD/SD aspect ratio conversion, and HD/HD cross-conversion (720p/1080i).
- Simultaneous Output: Provides both the input and converted formats on SD/HD SDI outputs, both synchronized.
- Optional Frame Rate Conversion: Offers an optional, factory-installed motion adaptive Frame Rate Converter (FRC) for high-quality conversions between different frame rate families.
- Sidebar Keying: Allows incoming video to be converted from SD to HD with sidebars filled by a second signal, enabling channel identification or other imagery instead of black bars.
- Automation: Many functions can be triggered by external GPI’s, allowing easy integration into existing systems for seamless and accurate automation.
- Extensive Connectivity: Features comprehensive I/O for converting between a wide range of analog and digital signals, including 3G-SDI inputs and outputs, HDMI, and optional SDI Fiber I/O.
- Audio Flexibility: Supports embedded SDI audio, AES audio, MADI audio, and analog audio, with audio disembedding and embedding capabilities.
- Closed Caption Conversion: Supports true conversion between EIA 608 and 708 (SD and HD) closed caption formats.
- Active Format Description (AFD) Support: Ensures that the aspect ratio of the outgoing signal is properly identified for downstream devices.
- Remote Configuration and Control: Offers front panel controls with LCD display, remote configuration via web UI, and SNMP monitoring.
